Have you ever had a moment when you felt like this?
If you're already noticing that "you're not present," let me applaud you. Because many people don’t even recognize what they are doing.
Back in my corporate days, one time, I had lunch with my close friend. But I didn't remember the conversation with her or even what I had on my plate!
Because I was out of focus, thinking about the frustrating conversation I had with my boss just before I met her...
Can you relate?
How about you? Are you being in the moment when you are having conversations with your spouse, kids, or your family over dinner?
Have you considered that feeling present is a choice...
Yes, we can make a choice at every moment...
But it's not easy ...
So, what can we do instead?
Check out this short video.
When you watch this video, you'll know how to be more...
Have you dealt with feelings of heaviness and wondered why your energy is so low?
Today, I talked about the wisdom I’ve learned from my mentor, Master Nishino, a Japanese ki expert during my 30+ years of apprenticeship with him.
There’s no thermometer to measure your energy, your physical life force.
What can you do instead?
What I learned was so profound. It’s like Zen practice ...that I’m still working every single day.
Does someone or something trigger you right now?
In this video, I talked about how to move away from anger.
Back in my corporate days, I used to get angry very easily, triggered by the words of my boss or co-workers. Many of them are related to gender discrimination which I fought for throughout my corporate career.
But one day in my 30s, I saw my face in the mirror.
There I found a distorted, unhappy, face of a woman. Not fully enjoying her life...
If you can resonate with this, watch this video.
Check your face in the mirror and see what you see in it.
Body training doesn't guarantee strong lungs. In fact, if you’re not breathing enough, you are limiting your lung power.
What many people don't realize is that everyday breathing isn't enough to keep oxygen flowing through the body at peak levels to strengthen your lungs.
Sure, some types of exercise can also strengthen the muscles of the neck and chest, but if you’re not breathing enough, you might never allow your lungs to function to full capacity. If you stick with the current way, you may risk putting all your effort with little results for your lungs.
If you don’t challenge the lungs intentionally, where will you be 6 months from now? If you lose your health, what would happen to your family? Like the rest of our body, our lungs need daily care and attention.
So, do you want to continue neglecting your breathing in your training? Or do you want to get access to the power of breathing to strengthen your diaphragm, make your lungs efficient, and boost...
I had stomach flu for the first time in nearly 15 years.
I practice breathing exercises every day, and that has helped me avoid catching a bad cold or flu in the cold winter season.
But this time, it was different. We dined out last Friday, and something must be wrong there.
So, I went to see a doctor. She reassured me that it was just stomach flu. I felt relieved and slept like a baby for two full days.
Health comes first above everything else. The lesson I learned was this.
When I returned to a breathing class yesterday, I felt that my energy had been purified and strengthened because of this experience.
If you are having some tough times, you might want to be more kind to yourself and think of a good lesson you'll learn from it.
I wish you the very...
Yesterday was my 57th birthday.
Why do we want to celebrate our birthdays?
In my short video, I talked about a valuable lesson I learned from my breathing teacher, Kozo Nishino.
Through the breath I take on my birthday, I feel so grateful for everything everyone around me.
I want to thank my family for their love, and thank you for your friendship.
On your next birthday, please remember to celebrate the first breath you took on this planet.
Wishing you and your family a Merry Holiday!
One question I often been asked from the beginners of our breathing class is, “Do I have energy?” This always surprises me.
In this video, I shared three points that still fascinate me based on my 30-year experience of exchanging energy with over a thousand students in the breathing class.
Have you ever had an experience that one word from someone completely changed the way you look at things in the world?
In this video, I talked about the one truth I've learned from my 93-year-old breathing teacher.
Whenever I feel I'm stuck, I always come back to this teaching.
In this video, I talked about how breathing changed my life.
I healed my allergy with breathing, but what’s more important is that I learned how to access my "inner energy" by changing my breath.
By practicing simple daily things like breathing, we can maintain our mobility in our later stage in life, doing whatever we want or traveling anywhere you like. And protect our dignity.
